Rat Ly49s3 / i3 / s4 / i4SKU: P-270

General description:

Mouse anti-rat Ly49s3/i3/s4/i4 monoclonal antibody (DAR13)

Applications: Flow cytometry, Immunoprecipitation

Isotype: IgG1

Rat Ly49 receptors are a large family of C-type lectin-like receptors encoded in the NK gene complex on rat chromosome 4. The DAR13 monoclonal antibody stains subsets of NK and NKT cells (3-40% of NK cells and 10-20% of NKT cells) which also coexpress the majority of the other Ly49 molecules present in the animal. DAR13 binds to two pairs of structurally related receptors with opposing function; Ly49s3/i3 and Ly49s4/i4 (s: activating,  i: inhibitory). The size of the subsets depends on the rat strain.

The NK research group (NKRG) focuses on the biology and recognition mechanisms of Natural Killer (NK) cells, which constitute an important part of our innate immune defense against neoplastic and virally infected cells, and react with normal allogeneic cells. One main focus is on the characterization of several families of lectin-like receptors on NK cells and their roles in immune responses against diseased cells.
