Rat MincleSKU: P-87

General description:

Mouse Anti-rat Mincle monoclonal antibody (Clone WEN43).

Applications: FACS, Western Blotting.

Isotype: IgG1.

Rat Macrophage Inducible C-type Lectin (Mincle; CLECSF9, CLEC4E) forms a heterodimeric surface receptor together with Macrophage C-type Lectin (MCL). The resulting MCL/Mincle heterodimer signals through FcepsilonRIgamma, and mediates phagocytosis upon receptor engagement. Mincle and MCL are encoded by the antigen presenting cell lectin-like receptor gene complex (APLEC). The APLEC gene region is associated with rheumatoid arthritis in man and experimentally induced autoimmunity in rodents.

About the scientist

Per Christian Sæther

Post. Doc

I have 15 years of experience as a scientist with immunology as the primary field of interest. Most of my projects concern the immune response of natural killer cells. These cells have an extraordinary ability to kill cells infected with viruses and cells that have transformed into cancer cells. Thus, natural killer cells constitute a crucial part of the immune response in intracellular infections and cancer.
I study how natural killer cells uses surface receptors to recognize sick cells, and how intracellular signals from these receptors translate into effector responses. The ultimate goal is to gain knowledge that translate into efficent ways to use natural killer cells in immunotherapy treatments.

During my studies, I have gained experience in a broad spectre of laboratory techniques. These techniques include methods to study the phenotype and responses of immune cells, as well as different methods to study DNA, RNA and proteins.
